Include the Western Weald in the South Downs National Park

The South Downs Society, together with the other members of the South Downs Campaign, is calling for the Western Weald to be included in the national park.

Act Now!

Print off the leaflet (link below) and distribute it to friends, family and neighbours.

Western Weald Leaflet

Write to the new Minister in charge of National Parks – Jonathan Shaw MP.  Please include the following points in your letter:

Object to the exclusion of the western Weald (including Petersfield, Liss, Midhurst and Petworth) from the national park – huge public support is for the designated boundary (which includes this area)

Object to the 6 week and narrowly constrained consultation in the holiday period.  Call for a 12 week consultation with a wider remit

Welcome the recommendation that the South Downs should become a National Park

Welcome the additional areas recommended to be included in the National Park

Any other comment you may wish to make about your local area

Please state that you would like this letter to be considered as part of the current consultation process on the South Downs National Park.
