Gift Aid
If you are a standard rate taxpayer and sign a Gift Aid Declaration, for every £1.00 you donate to the South Downs Society, we can claim an extra 28p direct from the Inland Revenue, without costing you a penny.
Your membership subscription counts as a donation so, if you sign a declaration, every year the Society can claim a further £4.20 from the taxman - a very useful additional income and again, at no extra cost to members.

If you pay income tax at the higher rate, you can use Gift Aid to reduce you tax liability. The Society would reclaim the standard rate tax, but the saving at the higher rate is yours and will reduce your tax by 23p for every pound donated.
